Operations in a bakery like Dolphin is not just about deliveries: it’s about freshness. Every day, our products move from ovens to shelves across the UAE, and timing is everything. As Director of Operations, my responsibility is to ensure that this daily rhythm never breaks.
Our fleet of over 70 vehicles operates 365 days a year. That means fresh bread reaching grocers early in the morning, puffs arriving hot at cafeterias, and bulk orders being fulfilled on time for institutions. Logistics, in our world, is a promise, not a backend function.
We’ve invested heavily in route optimisation, digital checklists, and real-time coordination. These systems help us reduce errors, manage scale, and respond quickly when plans change. And plans always change - traffic disruptions, last-minute corporate orders, seasonal spikes. Preparedness is what separates a good operation from a dependable one.
But systems alone don’t move products, people do. Our delivery staff are our frontline brand ambassadors. Their punctuality, professionalism, and relationships with retailers often define how Dolphin is perceived. We train them not just to deliver goods, but to represent trust.
As we expand into Abu Dhabi and integrate e-commerce logistics, operational excellence will matter more than ever. Speed must never come at the cost of freshness.
